Okada Related Deaths in Lagos Reduced by 80% – Commissioner

Mr. Kayode Opeifa, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Tuesday, in Lagos, stated that there is a sharp drop in the rate of accidents and deaths caused by commercial motorcyclist (okada) in the state. Opeifa who disclosed this at a press conference in Lagos to commemorate the 2013 United Nations Global Safety Week tagged, “Make walking safe”, said the introduction and enforcement of the Lagos State Road Traffic Law has started yielding positive result going by the records from both our public health institutions and the traffic enforcement agencies with the reduction in the number of accidents, and accident victims recorded.
