The G-13 which consists of former commissioners in Ondo state has hailed the victory of Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko at the Election Petition Tribunal in Akure last Friday.
A statement by the spokesman of the group, Mr Ranti Akerele described the verdict as a landmark in Nigeria’s legal history which is capable of withstanding the test of time at the appelate court.
According to him, the judgment has further confirmed the true wishes and aspiration of the people who voted for continuity in Ondo State for the sole mission of turning Ondo State into a model in the African continent.
The group stated that it was on record that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on October 21, 2013 announced Mimiko as the winner of the poll,which was widely adjudged as free,fair and very credible by local and foreign election observers and monitors.
